The room (King John) was excellent, great bedroom, great bathroom (although the water pressure/flow was average and the shower looked great but sprayed everywhere). Room appointments were good and the breakfast hamper was a great touch. Great location for access to town centre.

King John Room Stay

The perfect place to go before or after greyfriars house, the marvellous National trust property further up Friar street. You are in a historic house with an amazing atmosphere and as you drink it gets more amazing

Wonderful Interior. Good beer, friendly service

This was a very welcome lunchtime refueling stop during a busy day of sight-seeing in Worcester. Interesting building, good selection of real ales and tasty food - locally sourced scotch eggs and pork pies for us.

Welcome Lunchtime refueling stop

Great range of real ales and ciders. I love their perry but don't have too much. The cheese board is excellent.

One of the top 5 bars in Worcester

Stopped in here for a break from shopping and so glad we did! The interior is beautiful and in keeping with the era of the pub. Brilliant selection of drinks... Well worth a visit!

Great Selection of Ales and Ciders.

Great Beers, Service and Food.
Brilliant old English pub complete with a cracking array of specialist ales and ciders. The atmosphere is everything you could want from a classic pub with friendly service and plenty of banter. Add in the lovely sharing platters and excellent cheese boards and this ends up being one of the top pubs in the area. Worth a visit in any weather we sat out in the lovely beer garden and will be back soon.

Down Memory Lane.
We often eat in Worcester. Usually at Karmic or Mac and Jax (both good and very different) This time we tried the Cardinals Hat. Two reasons. First the reviews on Trip Advisor. Second because many years ago as a little lad I was parked inn a side room while my parents drank in the bar (the place was then called the Coventry Arms) The building has not changed much – cosy, comfortable and interesting. We expected the food to be good having read the reviews. But it exceeded our expectations. Really excellent and well presented. I wanted something light and had the pate with home-made chutney and toasted date and mixed nut bread. Served on a wooden platter and accompanied by a very good imported lager. Very reasonably priced and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Classic Pub!
We didn't eat here - apart from some excellent pork scratchings! - but this is a highly recommend pub and in my opinion(granted based on fairly limited knowledge) possibly the best boozer in Worcester. A great choice of ales and ciders. This is an historic building and has a great low-key atmosphere. Heaven!

Great, Proper Pub. An absolute gem of a pub. Great beer, staff and atmosphere all in the centre of Worcester The scotch eggs are something else too! Highly recommended.

Friendly traditional pub serving a large selection of traditional local ales and very tasty food. Really friendly atmosphere. Marek behind the bar is full of knowledge, friendly and helpful. Loyalty card too!

This is one of those pubs you stumble across every now and then. Tucked away in Friar Street, this quaint little pub with its panelled rooms and outside court yard is a great place to relax. They have a great selection of real ales and continental beers.

Fantastic décor, a great range of beer and a lovely beer garden too.

Andrew Bowden

Full of character and helpful staff and the food is amazing! Really different to your average pub grub; fresh, local produce that tastes fantastic!

Popped in for a swift half and ended staying half the night! Staff are very friendly and engaging, excellent selection of beers and ales.

New ownership has put new life back into this old favourite of mine. Warm pork pie & mushy peas with a good mint sauce… mmm! A simple but great little snack which went down well with my Purity Mad Goose. Welcome back my old friend.

Brian, Birmingham

I’ve been using this place for many, many years and can truly say that with the new owners it is now even better. When ever I am down in town for a few drinks with friends, we always try and finish the night in here as the staff are always welcoming and the range of drinks suits all.

Kevin, Worcester

Without doubt, the best pub in Worcester.
